FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH

Now king David was old, and advanced in years: and when he was covered with clothes he was not warm. His servants therefore said to him: "Let us seek for our lord the king, a young virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him and sleep in his bosom, and warm our lord the king." --The Third Book of Kings, chapter 1, verses 1 and 2 (Douay version).

Ciao bella,

Ah yes, we all seek the elusive Fountain of Youth in our own ways. So here are some tips and facts, which can successfully conquer our lost treasure –even if it is just in our minds.

A lovely adventure to St. Augustine, Florida, is definitely on my itinerary. Especially in our cold months there is nothing like a nice long stay in Florida. The Fountain of Youth is surely found there. When my Florida clients return home to New England in late April, they are just glowing. And it’s not from a golf tan either! They just look so reposed, and stress-free facial features are truly noticeable. Journey on down pass Jacksonville to St. Augustine and drink from the legendary Fountain that Don Juan Ponce de Leon discovered. After all, it was Christoforo Colombo (Columbus) that brought him to America in his second voyage in 1493. With all Ponce de Leon’s experience under his belt he headed up his own expedition in 1513 and set out to discover the Fountain of Youth. Numerous stories and legend have traveled many circles of the miracles romantically told by Ponce de Leon and his explorers. And certainly there is no legend more appropriate to the beginning of America than that this new land should offer men a vision of eternal youth. Indeed it has!

Then there is European Skin Center, established in 1986 at 262 Main Street in Reading, Mass., by the one-and-only Paula Pirrello. Che brava! This skin expert diva will restore your sagging skin, regenerate and plump up those old skin cells with her brilliant career experience of over 25 years. Ms. Pirrello’s studio offers a personal and private ambiance in the stylish manner we always seek.

She carries a fabulous array of Nelly De Vuyst products which help to uptain and maintain that luxurious skin she’s been treating with the facial your complexion requires. A specialty artist in her own domain, Paula will help you feel and look your very best.

And while you’re there, ask her about the body wrap. It takes inches off without counting a carb or calorie. Paula is now affiliated with the doctors out of Reading Medical Center and is now practicing micro-dermabrasion, one of the newest techniques available. Micro-dermabrasion is a type of skin exfoliation provided only by a professional esthetician or doctor. Phone call inquiries to Paula are welcome at (781) 944-4440.

Also in a popular market in the natural scene is a well-known wrinkle cure of rose hip oil. When applied daily, case studies in Chile and Australia showed remarkable evidence that facial wrinkles around the mouth and eyes were far less noticeable with some completely gone. A future column shall detail.

So there you have it, ladies.

Buona giornata,

--Mary.
